DT027
PT-100
Type: Temperature PT-100
Adapter |
Range: -200°C - 400°C |
Sensor Description:
The DT027 is a high-precision PT-100 sensor comprising
from an adapter (egg- shaped box) and a PT-100 electrode.
How it works:
The DT027 adapter outputs a steady electric current of 1.7
mA to the PT-100 electrode. The PT-100 is based on a high precision temperature
dependent resistor. The DT027 adapter is equipped with an array of resistors,
trimmers, and an amplifier designed to adjust the output voltage to a range of
0-5 volts, accepted by the MultiLog's analog-digital converter. The proper
result is then recorded into the Data-Logger's memory.
Calibration:
The DT027 has a simple calibration mechanism for more
accurate measurements. In the back of the Egg-Shaped sensor case you will find a
small hole. In order to calibrate the sensor you will need a reference
temperature. Insert the PT-100 electrode into the water, then start a data
recording. Insert a flat screwdriver into the calibration hole and slowly turn
it until the measured value is exactly the same as the reference value. The
sensor is now calibrated.
What is it used for:
The DT027 sensor is mostly used for industrial applications, where the high
precision of the PT-100 is required. In scientific fields the PT-100 is used
mostly for research of extremely low temperatures. Due to it's low temperature
measurement response and it's high accuracy, it is a very powerful sensor for
monitoring liquid gases and other materials.
