The DT041 sensor is a highly accurate humidity sensor.
It measures a range of 0-100% relative humidity with an error of not more than
±2% over the entire range and is mostly used for environmental, biological and
meteorological measure-ments.
The DT041 is based on a humidity-sensing component. This component is
actually a changing electrical capacitor, which changes its capacitating ability
according to the humidity in its environment. Note that the Data-Logger does not
recognize the DT 041, and the results will be recorded in Volts ranging from 0-1
Volts, which is accepted by the analog-digital converter. 0V is equal to 0% and
1V is equal to 100%. The proper result is then recorded into the Logger's
memory. To define the DT 041 as a humidity sensor, use the Define Custom Sensors
dialog box from DB-Lab and enter sensor and unit name and the calibration values
into the appropriate fields:
0V = 0%
1V = 100%
For further
documentation on defining a new sensor, refer to the DB-Lab section of your Data
Logger manual. The humidity-sensing component is equipped with two temperature
sensors, performing constant temperature compensation, in order to avoid bias
results caused by the changes in room/air temperature.
The DT014 is used for biological, environmental and meteorological measurements. Among the experiments using the DT014 is the recording of the body respiration properties, the exploration of biotic conditions outdoors, and the research of meteorological connections between humidity, temperature and light. Its high precision makes it excellent for academic or professional applications.
